Mosaic Down Syndrome
I am trying to start a campaign, About a hateful word. And I like to see if my post I did, About asking everyone to help me and stop this painful word. "Retard" I have been teased and picked on all my life, since junior High and high school. But not College. And that is great about that. No one knows about my disability. And I like to keep it that way. But when I was in junior high I have been teased and picked on and name calling too.
I have been pushed and yelled at. And the worst thing is being called a retard. That is what hurts me the most. and I am so sick of it. I am also sick of people using that word for other things like yelling at the tv and yelling out "What a retard" Why... There are other names to use, like stupid, I don't like this word either, but its better than saying Retard.
Since I've joined facebook, I have joined some groups like and when I see stories about parents, or other people on how they treat their kids, and how they have Down Syndrome. One story I had read about is this one parent, she had taken her son and put him inside of a dryer, and had taken a pic. and that terrified me and got me crying. How could someone do that to their child.
I had made a poster and had posted to the Ellen DeGeneres on her fb page. and asked her for help. And Help me stop this painful word. I like to start a campaign and see if my post will be trending and going viral. Right now I have over 80 likes and comments and like to see it go up to many likes and comments.
This is very important to me...And I hope everyone can help me.
I am a special person, And I was Born with Mosaic Down Syndrome. 37 years now. And I live my life day by day. And I go to school full time.
